Echoes and the Rain

Alone now…
My sadness cried into anger.
My anger cried into sadness.
Crickets repeat their incessant rebuke.
I am numb.
There are only echoes…
And the rain.
Laughter rings in the silent hall of my memory,
Drowned away by the cold, static rain.
There are no tears left.
No… some remain
