The World Around Me

by Rev. Luna Bloodstone

Age Group: Adult

There are many places you could go and many things you can do, but the one thing I like doing is simply sitting on green grass overlooking the most beautiful view. It relaxes my soul and revives my spirit. Just to be a part of that incredible scene for a short period of time is a release that words could not describe. But I will certainly try as hard as I can. By reading this I hope you become more enlightened to the world around you.
The feeling of the soft green grass beneath me is a tantalizing feeling. The soft blades slipping through my curious fingers. The feeling of the earth's pounding heart beat. Even in the still earth there is movement. And as I sit there I can feel the beating of the earth and the beating of my heart become as one. The limitless life in the deep depths of the earth all become a part of me and I begin to know them as I never have before. The warmth of their presence fills me almost to the point of combustion. Sometimes I cannot help but to shed a tear from the feelings this gives me.
As I sit there on the grass, the wind begins to blow. The sweetest smells known to me come forth to enflame my nostrils with their richness. First the sweet smell of the fresh air comes to me. Then the smell of the grass and dirt begin to flow. The smell of the dirt is indeed my favorite as you can smell how rich and fresh it is. And as I smell more of what the wind brings me, I begin to smell things you wouldn't usually smell. I smell the stories and tales of people and things from far away. Broken hearts, renewed love, angry words, tortured souls and slaves to happiness. The wind captures the scent of these things and carries them to others in need to hear the tales. And as the wind tells the stories it casts a spell so that you will never be the same as you were before.
I open my eyes and look at the path before me. I see so much potential there, not only for me, but for any one. I see visions of a might be future and a forgotten past. Places that people have been and places they have yet to go. Happy children playing Ring Around the Rosie while their parents watch them and take pride in their creations. Broken homes filled with lies, deceit and troubles too much to bear. Heavy heads hang for the misfortune of others. Heads shake and eyes stare, but spirits never die. Always remains the simple joy of living. The plain and simple joy that is life. In a word I guess that's what I can say I saw…life!
Doing things like this is an exercise of mind, heart, body and soul. And as I do this, I become wiser for having done it. I become more knowledgeable of the world around me and the people of this earth. I leave very different than when I came. My soul is eternally changed. As if I take all that was shared with me and carry it in my heart forever. There are many people who would call me crazy for what I say to you now, but I assure you I am not. I just know how to open my eyes to unseen world around me.
