An Ode to the Sun and the Moon

Oh blessed Sun and Moon of old,
How truly beautiful you are to behold.
Through every bright and warm day,
I feel the Sun's, radiant rays;
And on every still, starry night,
The Moon gives off her fluorescent light.
How truly wonderful you both are to gaze at;
Your power and wonders could never be matched.
All my life you've protected and watched over me.
You created and love the world around me.
You're always there looking down from above.
You're always there when I'm in need of love.
You make the fires burn and the winds blow;
You make the seas wave and the flowers grow.
With you there is always life,
Whether it be day or night.
I curse the gloomy day,
When gone is your lovely array;
So give me love and peace,
And patience in times of need.
Teach me to live in your ways, the old ways,
As I will always give you praise.
Dedicated to The Lord and Lady of whom I believe in and love.
Author's Notes: I wrote this poem when I was still in grade school. I was very young and just starting in my Wiccan path. However, even when I was a very young child I loved and admired the Sun and the Moon. I loved all their beauty and majestic power even through the eyes of an innocent child. Now as an adult I love them still and cherish every day/night I get to gaze upon their splendor. For they are the symbols of my beloved God and Goddess.
