For Raymond

My friend, you’ve suffered a great loss
And sadness and pain seem to be the cost
But please let me share these words with you
In hope that they may comfort you:
Life is a great lesson that we all must learn
We get exalted, and we get burned
But we all must face it and learn what we can
For we’ll all have to begin it all over again
So don’t focus on the bad, but remember the good
Think about what you “can” and “will” instead of “could”
And though this new stage in life is unknown,
Remember that you do not have to face it alone
Remember your family, the ones that are still there
Remember your friends, the ones that truly care
You will always remember what he meant to you
And please believe these words to be true:
That this is definitely not the end
And that you will see him again… my friend.
Author's Notes: I wrote this for one of my coven members who had suffered a death in his family recently. Our hearts go out to him.
