A Simple Thank You

Age Group: Adult
You gave me an eternal blessing
So deeply heartfelt, so refreshing
You were never blameful, never tough
A simple thank you, is it enough?
You kept me from diminishing, falling apart
You listened with an open generous heart
You never betrayed me or misled me
A gentle sympathetic hand, as it should be.
You saved me from a horrid mistake
Now I am heart and soul fully awake
You gave me a pure healing sense
No more living in a dead past tense.
I accept your endless blessing
There is no more second guessing
For I, in truth, know now
I actually own my own bow.
Hopes and dreams you have given with pleasure
Courage and grace I hold as a gifted treasure
Grateful to you, you are the real stuff
A simple thank you, I hope it’s enough.
Author's Notes: Written to my two friends, who were there for me when I couldn't see myself with clear eyes. I am now happy for no reason. Thank you!
