Where I am Meant to Be

Age Group: Teen
I am so close
I could literally feel it
brushing against
my fingertips. It is the time
when I find myself
wandering and wondering about
a place that lies
just beyond the stars. When the sky
turns black is when
I know that I do not belong
amongst the average
people. Unfortunately, as
they interrupt
me more from my wondrous thoughts
and as I get
older, I loose track of who
I am. I start
to constantly remind myself
that my true friends
are the thoughts that was with me when I
was a little
girl - the thoughts that had written hopes
all over them.
The thoughts that told me that my true
guardians with
me is the lilac flowers along
with the trees of oak.
The thoughts that spoke to me of the
hidden secret
buried deep in my heart. I know
now that I will
never loose track of where I belong.
I am always
in touch, somewhere, somehow of where
I truly
am meant to be.
