A Simple Prayer

Age Group: Adult
Pierced with hollow loneliness
But never with icy coldness
Hating this foolish shadowy show
A gnawing ache just let it go.
A beautiful tender person
Refusing to selfishly worsen
But drowning in the empty air
And tiring of the modern solitaire.
A sparkling gracious friend
Opening the massive door to end
Confining the brave loving heart no more
Living this blissful life as never before.
Do for others this was generously taught
A freeing warm feeling it so brought
The ache is no longer tiringly there
And it all came about with a simple prayer.
Author's Notes: This is probably not what you expected when you read the title. It’s not a prayer, but it is what a prayer and doing for others can do for a lonely, empty person. So, open your hands, share a smile and give thanks, you will love yourself for it.
