The price of sailing is passion and doubt.

Waves frantically crashing against the shores of unsureness.
Winds swiftly passing. Laughing. Blowing more of a mess.
No sight of light in the sky, another reminder that I’m alone.
The rain is thundering down, loud. Minds gone, will I find my way home.
When did I stray this far,
Can’t understand how I got so lost.
Should have listened to my heart,
Now, I have got to pay the cost.
The streets untimely flooding, just have to survive to see the morning.
Tell myself to hold out until morning, to keep my soul from flooding.
It’s getting ugly.
Sand castles collapsing all around me.
So loudly,
When did the world become so cloudy?
Becoming one with the shore,
I can not take this much more.
Freed from the ocean floor,
Now It’s calling me back for more.
Thrown back overboard.
While the rain is pouring down so hard.
Branches crashing. Winds still laughing. Feelings smashing, the idea to be strong.
Maybe, I’m meant to move on.
Maybe, It’s wrong to hold on.
I mean, what is being strong,
Holding on because we think we should hold on?
It’s getting cold, I’m getting faint;
Quickly running out of faith- then it came..
Dawn came and I made it out okay
Author's Notes: This is a poem that I wrote inspired by life at a time when I felt like I was becoming disconnected with the natural world; only to realize that the natural world is the world that accepts me and is the one true thing that means most to me.
