Sense the Night

Age Group: Adult
Crocheted colors of pinks and yellows
Blanketing the limitless sky to the west
Soon will fade the out stretched shadows
Slipping into the darkness unrepressed.
The herons take one last graceful leap
Breaking their statuesque stalking pose
Anticipating a peaceful night’s sleep
High into the Alder trees unexposed.
The wild moonflowers are awakening now
There is a scent of innocent seduction
A gesture of greetings they slowly bow
And give an aroma of mellow intoxication.
Gently raining down the darkness has arrived
Bringing to life what has been pleaded for
Its natural influence is so undeprived
Won’t you join me thru that mesmerizing door?
