The Break of Luxifer
Age Group: Adult
'What do you mean?'
The man from the past asked
I have always been right here, right now
It is the Rolling Moment
That is relentless in persistence
Constantly cusping now from before and after'
'I was never in the past
I was born into the Rolling Moment
When it existed in the past
I have always been right here, right now'
Luxifer looked down at the at the stinking sh*tting thing
The pitiful thing YHWH had given Eternity to
The Dark Radiant One drew in a slow deep breath
And it hitched in his throat from almost-sobs
He thought he could never hate the Storm God
For giving an animal a choice
And a chance at redemption from it
And Eternity in spite of everything
None in any Host had been given such
YHWH had broken the hearts
And the Faith of all of the Angels of God
The great dark head shook, disbelieving
'No!' The air roared with Luxifer's denial
Forests burned and the land shook
His eyes searched the clouds and smoke above
And he caught a glimpse of the far away City of Light
Two tears tracked
One from each outside corner of his dark eyes
Flared into candle flames high on his cheeks
Searing blistered furrows of scarlet
Into his black skin
And down to the point of his trembling chin
He raised his mighty fist at the sky
The hand that had once wielded the very Sword of God
Now shook at things above
Nails black and sharpened to points
And the Dark Radiant One screamed
Out of the eons of service with never a choice
From the hopelessness of only being able to die
At the hands of another and nothing after
In over four thousand years no Angel
Had ever been rewarded by the god YHWH
'An ape-thing emulates God and it is his redemption
An Angel does it and gets, ' looking at his monstrous hands,
'The Angel who emulates God gets this!'
He leaps, both fists swinging at the Godless sky
'Ye have yet to vex me, brother!'
In his voice hissed pestilence
But the sound was like the eruption
Of the last volcano before the end od the world.
Falling to his kness
The Dark Radiant One threw handful upon handful
Of dirt and ash skyward
While sobbing like a child
Until finally he dropped
And lay exhausted
His whole face and forearms
Gone red from the fire in his tears.
It took minutes or hours
For the Dark Radiant one to recover
'Wretch, ' he said to the man from the past
'This, uh, Rolling Moment . . . wouldst thou seek release?'
The man from the past looked down and away
Unable to recover from all he had witnessed
Ignorant that the demon giant quizzing him
Had once been the Hand of God.
'My Lord, the Rolling Moment protects the Unfolding
From Man and he from the Unfolding . . !'
'Nonsense! This Moment thing isolates the Child of God!'
With three great strides
Luxifer is within inches of the man from the past
He drops to one knee and brings his huge red face down
Until his unblinking black eyes meet and devour
Any will the man from the past might have gathered.
'Hear me! There is nothing of gain for me in freeing you.
But think of it! Outside of your wretched moment
If ever you find yourself in the past
What battle might you change in the name God?
What errors in judgement? Oh, and the future . . .
What riches might thee from the future bring?'
The man from the past is shaking
Is broken and staring at his feet
'Free me from it or not, My Lord. I just want to go home.
Please, let me go home . . . '
'So mote it be! Get thee from this place then, sh*tstain.
Take your stench and yourself
And go and be of service to The Lord, thy God!'
'And who shall I say has freed the people from the past, My Lord?'
'I am the Lamb of God', Luxifer chortled
I'm starting to have fun with this, he thought.
'I am the Lamb of God'
With that, the Dark Radiant One began to laugh.
When he finally stopped, the man from the past
Was nowhere to be found
He was met by the Hand of Luxifer
Between the second and third Circles
Upon seeing his black lord's new and hairless scarlet
The Hand lamented, 'Oh, My Lord, what has He done to you?
You were the most beatiful light in the City of Light'
He bagan to weep.
'Stop fawning at me you limp little prick!
There is no Luxifer. You will never again refer to me as such.
If you do, I will cast you beyond Seventh Circle . . . Henceforth
You shall be the Hand of Satan.'
God spent that afternoon alone in the Garden of Allah,
Quietly reflecting on the end of Luxifer,
The Hand of God and only friend he had ever known.
The man from the past
And all who came after forgot almost everthing
About the Rolling Moment and the Day of Luxifer's Break
Except a vauge feeling that they expressed
In this way:
From the past they carried every burden and regret
Until at last
They carried more of the past out of the past
Than had ever existed in the past.
On moonless nights they told the children
Stories of an ancestor, the Chosen One of the Lamb
Who would lead a last desperate crusade across time
In a failed attempt to fix the present
By changing events of the past
The failure was spectacular and the Chosen died in Glory
The Red Radiant One still
Laughs his ass off about it all
'Of course the little sh*tstain died Gloriously . . .
and loudly. He screamed like a eunich
As those Dragon Bird Nestlings tore into him.'
Although it had not happened yet
Satan could remember that the Lamb of God
Would give the Chosen the Right of Way across time
Two thousand Knights of the Here and Now
And some twenty three thousand pilgrims
With one step spanned one hundred million yesteryears
And to a man they died that first day
The victims of past monsters, dangerous and hungry
The Red Radiant One smiled at the memory.
'Oops! My bad!'
Speaking to no one in particular
And every once in awhile
Not nearly as often as in time past ,
Whenever the Holy Host is away tending the Unfolding
And the streets of the City of Light are vacant
The two of them share a six pack in the Garden of Allah.
'Lookit what ye done to me fookin' arse!'
Presents his gluteus for YHWH's inspection
When the moment is right he lets go
With a howling flatulence that is wolf-like
In both amplitude and intensity
YHWH doesn't dare breathe
'Ye gone and turnt it red. Like a baboon's.'
Then they are both laughing
And they do not stop until Satan is a gibbering
Ball of fire.
