The Song of The Force Creative

by darkling
 Age Group: Adult

She says, "I’ve something to show you"
She touches my wrist As if to steady me Or perhaps validate my solidity My body knows So I sit with her But not too close
The black bag The one the bartenders Know to tuck away and baby-sit Is curled up Sleeping at her feet tonight She bends to wake it Takes it To her lap and opens
(I watch her hair as it spills From her shoulder, across her throat And I ache to feel that fire-silk sweep In delicious tangles about my cheeks)
Then she is smiling at me I have no idea how long I’ve been gone Or if she even noticed My steadiness has evaporated But that is not the only reason I wish to feel her touch again
She says, "It’s in here, someplace"
I catch almost-glimpses As she searches For magick in the mystery I sense the power building As the energies around us converge Then combine For energy is unafraid It simply does what it does Combine and harmonize Drawing forever inward Bursting endlessly out Creating and containing
We do not know we sing We simply do The song is within us Is us The song of the force creative
She says, "You remember what I told you about"
The club is noisy and crowded But there is only the song And her` and me And we Do not know we sing
I watch her face And when she finds the treasure Buried in the black bag Her eyes tell me everything
She says, "This is my life"
She holds up a tangle of chains Charms and tokens At its center is a tiny, perfect crystal This is what she wanted me to see So I reach for the chains
She says, "There’s a pin in here someplace … I don’t want you to stick yourself …" She doesn’t want to let it go So I pull her hands closer to me And while I admire the stone She tells me the history Of things hidden in the chains
She says, "My mother gave me this When I became a manicurist …"
She shows me a small stylized hand Golden fingers long and slender Tiny nails perfect
"… and the cornucopia is from my son, I remember wearing it on a piece of string It was so important to him that I wear it …"
I look from the tangles in her hand To the tangles in her eyes
She says, "This is my life"
She smiles and offers a little shrug
Stoned with that image I smile and say, "This is the knot of your life, Babe"
Her path seems clear to me
I say, "Maybe its time to untangle those chains Lay them out straight, release the confusion Love each strand Every charm on its own terms Not in relation to its entanglements"
Her look tells me she thinks I don’t understand And in that moment Insight suspends me miles above the planet My stomach free-falls down and away I see the sun’s light impacting The very fringes of our atmosphere Energies, converging and combining I see a faint blue glow Photon and molecule, harmonizing The lesson in the vision comes:
There are at least as many ways to cherish happiness as there are of building monuments to pain
Then my body is screaming planetward And I am a blue-white streak across ebony sky
I say, "Then again, a knot may be a good thing …"
Days later we are talking
She says, "You know, I untangled the knot … You remember. The chains. Well, it was a single chain. I had forgotten putting everything On that one, long chain …"
Her words make me shiver The hairs on my arms stand And I hear the singing Universe Hear the voice That falls only on the willing ear
I have heard it said That the Magick has gone away I no longer believe that today I listen for the singers of the force creative Though I do not know why we sing Only that we do
We do
Blessed Be
