The Ride
by Lunara
Age Group: Adult
She came on like the moonlight
riding high across the sky.
Her hair as dark as thunder,
there was lightening in Her eye.
She smiled at me a knowing smile
and then held out Her hand.
Within it were life's mysteries,
She knew I'd understand.
She taught me about magic
and living in Her light.
All this and more She gave to me
one dark and moonless night.
Now we walk this path together,
forever, Her and I.
And when the moon is full,
we ride high across the sky.
Author's Notes: This poem actually took almost 20 yrs to finish.
I wrote the first 2 lines in 1982 and the rest came to me in a smashing 10 minutes in 2000.
I was able to get it published in 2001.
She works in Her own time and place.
