Sonnet of the Now Forgotten

And what is it? Why can I not stop it...
Thinking of him, the one who hurt me so.
I know my heart has conceived a habit
Of blinding my mind with these thoughts that grow.
Deep down, I know that he is wrong for me,
Though I am convinced he is so perfect.
This struggle will go for eternity,
As I sit here, wish, ponder, and reflect.
He is far beyond my reach, but it seems
I'm his, and he's mine...
only in my dreams.
