Wind

It came to me in the morning
and welcomed me into its swirl.
As i accepted,
it surrounded in arms unknown to me before
and filled me high with revelation!
Wind - mighty to topple a tree in its firm standing,
but gentle to whisper in my ear -
Ruled the world today.
It teased the sun,
Welcomed the rains,
And hushed the trees...
Oh! But how it made the trees sing!
And tomorrow, as I write the words of Wind,
A small breeze calls to me in the shade.
--almost non-existent,
But calming as a friend's company,
and that is all.
The clouds move slowly.
The sun is warm.
Birds are singing as the trees rest,
And Wind beside me
is sleeping.
Author's Notes: When I lived in Italy, a spunky wind elemental decided to visit me many times, and inspired me to write this poem.
