The Warrior

by Coltrane
 Age Group: Teen

In a time of war and violence, In the time of Caesar's campaign, There was a warriror. She went through pain, She went through sorrow. She was a great warrior, I must say so myself. This is a woman, Named Coltrane. The Warrior Queen.
Very few know How Coltrane got her start As a blood-thirsty warrior. But those who do Have not told the tale To unworthy strangers. To preserve the memory Of the great warrior's tale.
So insteading of wondering, Why not I tell you The tale I know you're Dying to hear:
At the age of ten, On the night of Her wedding, By a boy named Jonas. Her father was happy, Her father was proud.
As Coltrane walked Down to her wedding, She saw someone She didn't want to see, A warlord.
Now this warlord Didn't know of the Special cermony. He only wanted To conquer land. For himself.
As Coltrane ran, Ran as fast as the wind, She saw her father die By the warlord's sword.
When the warlord Turned to walk back, Coltrane bent down To her dead father's body.
She could smell his Blood, the heat from His now decaying body. She could see his breathing slowling To a sudden stop. She put her hand to his hand, And felt only cold, icy skin.
Coltrane picked up the sword, That killed her father. She swung the sowrd Left and right And stabbed that Evil man For what he did. To the poor girl At the age of ten.
She wiped her hand On the blood of the sword. She wiped the blood Over her face. She could taste The saltiness And the bitterness of it. She loved it.
She then put her hand Under her hair and Made a ponytail. She put the sword Behind her hand And cut all of her Beautiful hair off.
She dropped the wade of hair Onto the dark ground. She ran her hands through Her hair. She loved that, too.
She looked up ahead of her To see a tall man. His eyes shined in the moonlight, His hair as dark as the night itself. He walked to her in a very slow way, As if taking in everything.
When he came to her, He bent down and spoke To her: "Hey Coltrane. Do you know Who i am?" He waked in a very sweet voice.
"No. Who are you?" She answered back.
"My name is Aries. I have a present For you." And out of nowhere, He pulled a sword Out from behind His back.
Cotlrane was mezmirized, Coltrane was amazed. She took the sword Into her hands. She loved the feel, She loved the touch.
"Do you like it?" He asked. She looked Up at him and Smiled the biggest Smile in teh world.
"Thank you." Aries put out His hand and Coltrane held on. As they walked together, Hand in hand, They suddenly Disperced into the darkness.
One of the witnesses That saw this Was none other Than Jonas.
In the time of war and violence, In the time of Caesar's campaign, There was a warrior. She went through pain, She went through sorrow. She was a great warrior, I must say so myself. This is a woman, Named Coltrane. The Warrior Queen.
Author's Notes: This was inspired to me from the book that i am writing about a warrior named Coltrane. I have always loved poetry and thought this would be a good mix to put the main character in my story with the one thing i love to do.
