~
The Wheel of the Year turns and summer slides past;
with a seamless blending of seasons.
As the dark days approach and the time of sacrifice draws near;
showers of gold fall from the trees as a tribute to the dying God.
They cover the brown mantle the Goddess has spread over the land;
as she watches her aging love fade.....and grow thin.
Bright tears for the fading light and warmth
Bright tears for the promise of rebirth
Bright tears as the Wheel of the Year turns.......
