The Earth Child Returns

Age Group: Adult
Shade rests in my eyes,
For they have lost their shine upon sights of dark deeds.
Upon pain- their luster is gone.
Ground marks my hands and knees,
For I have dug a shallow bed upon the earth,
In which to slumber.
Crinkled sheets drop over my body.
And moisture collects
Upon their caps of Maple color.
Fair wind lifts the warmth of shadow from my skin,
Upon which grand Silver shines.
Upon which, I shiver.
Frost crisped, I awaken.
My host is calloused to the still air,
Upon which, my breath billows.
Gold peeks through my lashes,
For they are breaking open with the sounds of morning,
Upon which, I rise.
Sky reflects from my crystal eyes.
For through them I speak
With the thoughts of my reclaimed soul.
Author's Notes: i have moved away from my grandmother and my aunt. i am now, truly solitary in this dance. So, I am rejuvinating my spirituality with the great Mother of us all.
