Changeling

The pugent smell of burning rock
As I gaze into Her firery flow
The molten rock bright with heat
Hotter than a thousand suns
My body is weary from the rough journey
How I long to just rest!
But She has brought me to Kilaeua
It's so hard to go from catepillar to a butterfly
All the time and energy is takes
But it must happen She tells me
Or life will have no meaning
"Gather your courage, gather your strength"
"I and Freya will be at your side"
"Dive into my Lava and become the crysallis to the butterfly"
Feeling her love surround me
I throw my weary body into the liquid fire
It hurts, but it cleanses me
I do everything to not focus on the pain.
She tells me everything will be better
The heat turns to warmth and it is soothing
"Now emerge my butterfly!"
I step out of Kilaeua's blood.
Renewed, refreshed, and alive!
"Now, set out on your new journey with Freya and me at your side!"
"Thank you Pele" as I kiss her feet. The tears in my eyes.
I keep her and Freya in my heart as I continue my thousand mile journey.
Author's Notes: This one is from the metamorphosis I have been undergoing and has to do with a lot with the Goddesses in my life (Pele, my patron Goddess, Freya) .
