The Unopened Doors

The Unopened Doors

I peer over the railing of my deck,
I see the optical illusion of three doors,
The shadow of the tree trunks,
convince me that the doors exist.
I long to choose which door will open and call me to it,
Should I choose the one on the right? the left? the middle one?
That is a choice that I and I alone can only make.
If I let myself go, and wander aimlessly until I am able to choose, the choice would still be torn.
The three doorways represent a significant person in my life,
The first door, Is a heavy metal door with a latch about to fall off,
The middle door is very accomodating, but very deeply troubled,
And the last door has a hidden message that is of a mysterious and dark nature.
Ever changing and never fully open.
I start to open the last door, and realize that it is filled with much unhappiness and great pain.
I choose none,
My choice is none,
The doors shall remain closed
and I shall walk around them to the tranqulity of my open doorway to happiness.
Author's Notes: Sometimes it is best to leave an unopened door alone. To do this, takes much courage and true healing. I choose my life to be filled with tranquility and happiness.
