As I step off the train,
I can feel the electricity right through to my soul,
You are standing there with that smile,
The smile that radiates the love that you feel.
I walk toward you, as if in a trance,
You're eyes guiding my every step.
It has been a very long time since we have been together
I am but a puppet to your strings.
I don't know why I have come to see you,
You were my demise, but yet I am drawn to your power
What is it that you seek? I ask.
You just stare with those eyes that penetrate my being.
I should turn and get back on that train
But something is drawing me to you,
A force I cannot control
I thought I could fight you,
But you are too powerful for me.
I know in my heart you are bad for me,
But this knowledge, is pushed aside for some unknown reason.
I am floating toward you now,
without fear, doubt or reservations.
What is this power you have over me?
It is unexplainable.
You can will me to do anything, I am helpless in your company.
No one should have this much power,
I relinquish mine to you.
What will you do with it?
No one should have this much power,
I take it back from you,
I am awake now, and the dream felt so real.
Just when you thought you had me,
I finally woke up!
Thank you for that rude awakening,
It was a blessing in disguise.
Now you are out of my life,
and it feels so good.
My power to no one but me.
I own my own power, never to relinquish it again!
Author's Notes: To own your own power is an essential element to being an emotionally stable person. When you give away your power it is like telling someone that you are not worth it. Never allow anyone to take your power from you. Remember "knowledge is power!"
