Oh Sparrow of Life and Freedom
speak to me,
Tell me life's secrets.
You perch on my deck
Sitting all serene
with that beautiful speckled body
and those deep black eyes
knowing the secrets of the universe.
If only you could speak to me
then I will be enlightened
to what you know and see.
You are a creature of nature,
a messenger to your kind,
I see all your friends gathering in the trees,
What are you telling them?
Let me in, I want to know
what you have discovered there in your world
of flight and freedom.
Oh Sparrow of Life and Freedom
Speak to Me!
I want to fly and be free.
Author's Notes: Watching nature and being connected to the earth is an essential part of growth and understanding yourself. I have dedicated this summer to become connected with this, so that I may grow and fully understand myself. I wish I could speak to the sparrow, it would be the most amazing experience of my life.
