I Hope You Remember

I Hope You Remember- for Thomas Bahr, Sr.
I hope you remember my first birthday
The candles on the cake
My first tooth
My first step that you wanted me to take
I hope you remember our happy years at seven
I hope you think of me when you walk the plains of the heaven
Please don’t think I am angry, even though I am sad
You are my Angel now as well as my Dad
Give Mom a kiss on her cheek
And know that I will not stop all that I seek
My business, my home, my future love and the sea
I will strive to accomplish all of these
I will honor our Ancestors
And loved ones passed this nigh’
Be blessed by the Universe
As you journey through Elysia high

Sometimes it snows in April
Sometimes I feel so sad
Sometimes I wish that life was never ending
But all good things they say
Never last
Author's Notes: I recited this at my father's funeral last year. I feel that at this time of Samhain we need to remember that our loved ones are always with us. They just travel a different plane now. I wanted to share this with you to not only honor my dad, but to inspire others to honor their loved ones that have paseed as well. Blessed Samhain
