Who was that boy from Calabria?
Was he in constant wanderlust.
Always traveling towards Siracusa?
Was there a green-eyed beauty
that called his name even in his dreams?
Was he beguiled by her beauty, her
warmth, her ease of giving love?
That boy from Calabria,
always traveling towards
that green-eyed beauty.
They gave each other a promise,
A promise of love, peace and light.
They held each other on that stormy
beach, touching ever so gently
caressing each other's cheeks,
professing their love,
vowing to be together for eternity.
The distance was agonizing,
sometimes months would pass,
but the two lovers would never falter.
They would be with each other
in their minds, traveling in their dreams,
to meet once again on that stormy beach,
vowing to be together for eternity.
Perhaps this was a dream,
Perhaps this boy from Calabria
shall travel yet one more time
to that green-eyed beauty in Siracusa
and take her away to that promised
land of peace, love and lightness.
To all romantic notions,
to all fulfilled promises of devotions,
let the boy from Calabria find his
green-eyed beauty for that eternal kiss!
