Ever Burning Embers

Warm young fire,
you glow with innocence,
Ever burning embers,
stoking till you smolder.
Why does this fire burn?
Only to learn,
what this older fire has inside
to reach you through the heat
so that you cannot repeat
that older fire's menace
to teach the young flame
to be peaceful, happy and tame.
Author's Notes: Let the heat of your fire burn with the intensity of a raging river.
