"Putting This Relationship To Rest"

You knew I was flying,
You kept denying;
that sign
deep in your mind.
I could not deny the fact
that we were off tract.
Our train was traveling fast;
and going past;
all those stop signs that were clear
that told us to slow down, dear.
We went ever so fast,
and did go past,
those signs that were very clear
and ever so near;
to the journey that is being sought;
without any little thought
to the consequences of our actions
always wanting positive reactions.
But in reality of time,
you were never mine.
I was never yours
we were only ours.
Souls from another place,
never to erase,
the past memories that were painful
to try and soften the blame ful.
It isn't anyone's fault
but this union must come to a halt.
The decision was not easy,
only one of not pleasing.
it was an honest quest
to put this relationship to rest.
Author's Notes: As painful as it seems when a relationship is put to rest, it is also a sign that you are growing and healing and moving forward in your life.
