My Baby girl,
You have the world!
You can set it on fire
With your desire
To be that star
That you know you are!
Ever since you were a little girl
Always searching for that pearl
Forever spinning and twirling
Always a song unfurling.
Dancing and singing for us,
Always making such a fuss.
Wanting to sing along
Knowing all of the song,
Going for it full force,
Whitney Houston of Course!
In the backseat of my 63 T-bird,
Catching every word,
Reaching for those high notes,
A mother surely dotes.
Then you insisted on learning guitar,
Surely we all knew you would be a star!
Playing secluded in your room
Always feelings of doom,
Those were your darker days,
Much to our dismays.
College came and then you were
Ready to really purr.
Eula was formed to be,
The launching for all to see
How that desire that burns in your soul
And watching you reach your ultimate goal.
You have the ability to become that star,
It is within your reach, not very far.
Believe in yourself and fly,
Never shall you wonder why,
Only know that you have that fire,
Now go and light it with your desire!
On this day of your 23rd birthday,
Know that this mom is about to say,
“I am very proud to be your mom,
Never give up and always be the bomb!”
I love you Leesie, always, and forever,
Your Mom
Author's Notes: this is dedicated to my beautiful, musician daughter on her 23rd birthday....Happy Birthday Leesie, I love you with all of my heart and soul. Be the Star that you were truly meant to be!
