Alone in Darkness

The night falls in a heavy, suffocating cloak, cold and alone are we.
The light for which you lust flares once, then dies, devoured by the abyss.
All hope must sicken and die.
Your soul thrives no more.
How could you tear us asunder?
Lost souls surround us, crying, we have lost our light.
I am chained here, shying from loss;
Falling through this silent void, heart so black and torn.
This love so severed, a blackened hole, hurled away;
Yet I wish for your touch so warm.
Around, all around, the shadows gather.
My dread grows as the scythe of despair falls against my heart.
It mutilates me, and darkly my essence drips
to the wicked earth that is my prison.
In pain I call your name while Death's shadow looms.
Now alone, my cascade of tears falls upon darkened eyes.
This is my doom...
