I should have loved me more...

I should have loved me more,
but, alas, I chose you instead!
I thought that you were
"all that", and that you would
"always love me",
how very wrong I was!
I should have loved me more,
because I thought that you
loved me a lot!
Now, years later, I found,
that you only desired
getting ahead with your
life!
I should have loved me more!
I was way too dense!
I didn't use my brain, enough,
and saw what I "wanted" to see.
You weren't "really there", it was
only my imagination!
I should have loved me more!
I tell others my age, ...I let them
know, that some men, are NOT
what they tell you they are...oh , no
they are not what they say at all!
I Hope you love yourself more!
When you meet someone,
make sure you wait, to
appreciate, what you have,
as you ! Love who you are,
and if you don't, ... think on it,
cuz', I should have loved me,
more!

This is about me, when I was about the ripe old age of 19ish.
Now looking backwards...I find that I just didn't "think" about whom I had "supposedly loved" and I see a lot of error, , .which is too late for me to change...but, now I can actually see the "errors of my ways" when, for many, many years...I had always thought, that "nothing" was wrong...but, I was mistaken, VERY mistaken!
I now have a great person who LOVES me very much, and I love him...but, I wish that I had been more able to "see " things for what they really were, and to admit them!
SO this is about a person that I mistakenly thought, "loved me", but, I don't think so now...and I will never think that either! He "Fooled me" ..and I say this with care....please watch out for those FOOLS, in this world..because I would rather see people have "REAL LOVE, than NO love at all! Been there, done that!
Appreciate YOU, and everything about YOU, and what you have as YOU....celebrate yourself!
