Tree...

Tree , looks high above me,
branches growing outward,
as if reaching....
.This Tree, my tree, historic tree
.Tree of many lives,
tree that hasn't died,
yet, so many lives died on it.
Tree needs to be seen as
just and only a tree,
not the branches of a murderer,
not the wicked tree, of evil...
not to be remembered for
the deeds
that were done to it...........just , tree.
Tree, looks down upon me,
as if to ask, "won't somebody play
in my branches again,
won't somebody sit
beneath my shade?
Why does everybody
avoid me?
Did I do something wrong?!?
"Tree, of the long bloody past...
...tree of grief, and sullenness.
tree that stands , and ...
stands as a crying ,
stoic symbol ,
of yesterdays'wrath.
One lone tree,
just a tall wind blown,
ever waving, ever standing,
ever gracefu ltree.
...but, not loved, or admired
or cared about...anymore...
..Yet, just and still only a tree.

I was thinking back about the trees that are still standing, yet nobody really wants to go near those particular trees because of what it reminds them of..not that trees really are the "symbol" of what has occurred at that site, because that isn't what the past is or should actually be "connected" with or to....but, these living green plants are still standing, and yet , are pointed out as that's that Hangin' Tree, or whatever , from the way dark past....It's really sad...that trees or anything else that was used to kill or hurt, or torture, must carry this "burden" for the rest of history! Nobody can EVER change that history...because it just stays that way forever!....
