Familiar Eyes

Familiar Eyes
My Familiar's eyes glow emerald green
Watching me pour the libation
Staring intently at forces unseen
Raised by my slow incantation.
Candlelight flickers in this darkened room
As shadows dance freely and crazed
The world outside is as still as a tomb
As I gather energies raised.
Glittering gems watch my athame draw
Energy into my Working
Heedful as always of Magickal Law
Certain of no danger lurking.
Brushing against me as I lift my wand
Directing the spell to its goal
Her presence strengthens our magickal bond
That entwines her into my soul.
Purring approval as my spell is cast
She leaps lightly onto the floor
I bow my head in a thank-you to Bast
For this feline friend I adore.
