Honey Brown

A small summer tale
that counts the hour as stole
to escape cold crosses trails
we keep hands down fold
Dark's lower glow smolder
out of dark eyes
caught another set of dark eyes
met to be why I see what I see
Honey brown hair
in the soft summer light
with arms wrapped round
my knees
Our night
the one glow
of lantern light
that you know
Better to gather bayberries and honey suckle wines
Then to speak freely
of what rain ripens
Dank Dark on the vine
Over done
before we start
hard use made warmth
by heart
The yield a fee
simple to quote
how light's broken
with me
Spray in my face
for an expression scatter
less then grace
I gathered a new skin
As I tried to hold down
make fast and mask
life with evenings
heaviness and task
I shared everything
showing exception to all your caring
and now my hard heart
no bones about it bare bearing
Author's Notes: This is about a heart that still
needed the love from a relationship
gone away. So I kept the love
and the notes how not to lose
the love again.
