I Storm

The smell comes first.
The dampness, the Earth,
the clouds screaming for release.
The energy comes next.
The impulses running through my veins
as lightning meets cloud, meets land.
I used to think of the storm as different from myself.
Now it is myself.
Now I sense the heaviness that accumulates in a cloud.
Now I shudder from the electricity flowing in the sky.
Now I close my eyes and fly with the wind.
I am human, I am storm, we are one.
