Alone
by fearless fallen angel
Age Group: Adult
Sever the ties, the black-robed said.
Where are the fixtures of solid content?
I look to the Lord, upon the oak bench,
And, think to myself, this doesn't make sense.
Where is the Lady, Justice and Peace?
To allow the call, i beseach.
I fear for the world of wicked and kind,
I look for the omen, I look for the sign.
While the travesty goes on, with buckets and brine,
I cannot remember the truth, the last time.
The room is all candled in serious, male heat.
Yet, I sit alone, alone in my seat.
Eyes searching, searching for the kindest of souls.
Instead, what I find is tired, and old.
The cattle are trotted through glory and shun.
There are no moments alone in the sun.
When my name is dismissed,
I wonder, "What happened? What did I miss?"
I'm led away, crying, shackled and ironed.
Where is the truth? The truth must be sired.
Darkness envelops the bottomless pit.
I stand, all alone, quite in a fit.
My screams are the last sound that I heard.
Echoing, echoing, alone in the world.
