The Ruin of My Temple

How tragic it must seem,
from without
as you look in
to find me here in ruins.
And so you see
the remains of my great architecture:
shaken to its roots
in a tremor caused by love.
And how odd
that love alone should
cause such ruin upon my temple
that once so proudly stood.
So let me ask you,
curious onlooker, witness to my tragedy,
before I lose what little here remains:
What is it that goes by your mind
as you see this love-striken fool?
You laugh, you laugh!
Your heart is still intact.
