Why Cannot I...

Inevitably, we must all choose between love and lust.
Each, a perfect challenge; if only to appeal to the masses and varied senses.
Indeed a most extreme challenge, preceding to the proverbial crossroad
My head or my heart, you ask? This often tends to be the question.
Why cannot I, just eat my cake and have it too…
As the principal in my own story line, would seem a simple thing to do.
Primordial response, but instinct alone is not enough.
Shall I call upon the oracle, for answers to such stuff?
With stakes as high as this query, still thoughts of fingers through my hair.
Shared secrets whispered softly, through your teeth, into my ear.
Why cannot I, just eat my cake and have it too…
Simply gaze into the portal of one’s soul, within their eyes.
Reflect into this newfound revelation, to a camouflage of lies.
Deceit always presents itself; one must simply to inquire.
Apparent is intention, merely willing to conspire.
Take care to pay attention, when you heart is taken hostage
For distraction means destruction, chagrin the repercussion of your posture
I want love and lust, I want passion and fire.
I want health and wealth, I want that burning desire.
Unconditional fulfillment beyond my wildest dreams…
Why cannot I, just eat my cake and have it too…
