The Crone

Age Group: Adult
The Crone
Her hands are gnarled and painful
Worn and so weary
Yet they remain soft and warm.
She has seen many moons
Her face creased and withered
Wrinkled and haggard
But still her eyes sparkle brightly
They shine with knowledge
Her white hair is gleaming
Down her once graceful back
Flowing forever
The Crone
Oh Wise One!
Keeper of Knowledge
Spinner of Magick
Teacher of Spellcraft
Lover of nature
She was once the lovely Maiden
Became the fertile Mother
Now she is the respected Elder
She is the Winter
The final chapter
The dying embers of a long burning fire
She speaks to her sisters
Do not weep for me!
I am returning to the Earth
To be reborn
I am like the seasons
After the frosty winter
I will be begin anew
Like the budding orange blossoms
I will return as the maiden
Like the fruit bearing branches
I will return as the mother
Like the falling leaves
I will return as the Crone
Until the frost covers the ground
And I cycle once more
The wheel is ever turning.
