The Knife-Like Moonlight

Knife-like moonlight rains down
On a night that freezes, even horizons and sunsets
Alone in that wilderness, clenching my knees
I strain to hear the song of the wind
Those who do not know a sleepless night
Cannot become strong; that is my oath
I can hear a whistling farther than the stars and the skies
It is the words of someone's prayer
I hold them tightly in my right hand
And softly close my eyes
A thing that is sadder than loneliness
Is not realizing this loneliness
No matter how freezing the night, under the Earth
Warmth is hidden.
You are the Earth and you are cold, like the night.
Now I will tell you what this warmt is
This warmth is from you because you care about someone
Close to your heart.
To the world you may be one person,
But to one person you may be the world
You are not alone in life
Although you might think that you are
Well, that is your choice, not mine.
