Masks

Day by day,
I wear different masks,
And by each nightfall,
I take them off,
Until the morning sun shines in my window,
Waking me up for a “new” day,
Or so they say.
Because, each and every day,
I do the same thing,
I tend to let people think,
That I am a fool,
The kind of fool who can’t do anything on her own.
But yet, I’m the one helping them instead.
They also think that I am loud and crazy.
They think that they know everything about me.
But they don’t,
Because if they knew the real me,
The one that is shy, quiet, calm, and even smart,
They wouldn’t be treating me like a child,
But someone the same age as them, instead.
But for now,
I’ll just let them think taunt and insult me,
But soon, they will wish that they never did.
If they want to be nice to me, and listen to what I have to say
Then listen up,
“Whatever kind of person you think I am,
I am actually the exact opposite,
So all you are doing right now,
Is making up lies about me,
So I won’t care what you say.”
