Reflecting on the past spent days
Of journeys that have shown me truths
Pondering's of then and now
The inner soul it screams
Suffocating darkness that gives way to life
You ask me who I am
I am imperfection
Learning as I go
I am imbalance
Atop a foundation sure
I am depression
Filled with tears of joy
I am scarred
Yet beauty I behold
Who are you?
Am I finally good enough?
Or am I beneath you still?
Have you found your tolerance?
Or do you still despise?
Have you not yet learned?
That it is not our right to judge nor persecute
Ridiculed by your belly laugh
Like daggers you pierce the flesh
You ask then what I've seen
I have seen the illusion
And I have shed the veil
I have seen the sadness
And I have eased its pain
I have seen a mother silently protect her little girl
But shhhhhhh we mustn't speak of that
Is this not enough?
Do you want more?
I have seen the glow of sweet passion's flame
And I have embraced it
I have looked into the eyes of an eagle
And I have bowed to him
I have seen the door
And I have crossed its threshold
I have seen the truth
And I cherish it
What have you seen?
Do you still think me incapable?
An idle heart that has nothing
That is nothing
Do you shine bright your true colors?
Or still hide them beneath the bed?
Then are we the same?
NEVER!
