Ebb and Flow

Ebb and Flow
Rising tides of then and now
Caress the moonlit sands
So soft becomes
the rise and fall
In gentleness are bound
Is but just a story of the ages
In allegory such words recite
Still is in truth we find our meaning
Sweet hope that drives us home
A guiding hand that holds us dear
A touch across the miles felt
Breath of life when sunlight fades
One heart that beats in time
Simple pleasures if all be told
Through the silence of the night
Freedom found in passion’s grace
That joins above below
