Buried~
Dig the shovel nice and deep
Wake the dead from their sleep
In this graveyard of lost souls
Damaged, broken, and unwhole
Tried to make the pieces fit
Downed the bottle, took a hit
Some found pain in loves embrace
Hope then dead and laid to waste
One’s whose neck was bound by noose
And never knew to cut it loose
Tangled with the ties that bind
Hurtful, cruel and most unkind
Pretty scars on little wrists
Beaten down by guilty fists
Held the hand up to the flame
Remind the flesh of private pain
Some gave all but not enough
Words were smooth but hands were rough
Deception lurked in every eye
Withheld the truth and told the lie
Anger was but fear unveiled
Innocence lost and peace derailed
A maelstrom of misery
Turned the lock and lost the key
In the darkness no one saw
Always drew the shortest straw
And accustomed to their loss became
A bitter pill swallowed with shame
Time to lay the shovel down
From my head remove the crown
For in these corpses what I see
Is I am them, and they are me
