Falling

Falling
Dreaming of the better days
Life before the pain
Alone the chaos tears my soul
Bound by chains of fear
So many questions
Nothing ever changes
I am falling
Sometimes I wish for peace
To be like everybody else
Neither cursed or gifted
Just happy in an ignorant bliss
I am tired of hurting
Just a moments rest is all I need
But I cannot turn by back
Nor would they let me
I cannot go home, not now
Though I've begged and pleaded
What is here but a barren wasteland
Struggles that will never cease
My angel will not let me walk this path
And I know that I must listen
In silence I sit day after day
Judged and ridiculed
"Not good enough"
"You're putting on some weight"
"Your hips are too big"
"You're an idiot"
"Why can't you be more like us"
"But wait can you do this for me"
The constant reminder
A family of strangers I think sometimes
Distrusting of their own
Hateful and mean
Childhood friends have come and gone
You just cut yourself off from the world
Sparing it from such darkness
Til you find yourself alone
Everything lost
Staring at the walls
Not one to just for a moment understand
To listen or care
False smiles yield a shattered heart
Until the sun does rise again
