I thought you were the one
The one who would hear
All that I was trying to say
Really listening, understanding
There was more to be said
Is something I must do
Why don't you care
This torment I live everyday
Just trying to find a way
To heal a heart long gone
So oft in the past remains
All the dreams, all the thoughts
In visions that consume me
You were the one
Who would not turn away
But you did
Is that really who you are
I find that so difficult to believe
Then again who am I to say
Perched up high on your coastal estate
Yet we are no different
What is it that you ponder
I am a liar, a fraud, a freak
Bite me!
I don't care what your entourage thinks
Perhaps you should look to your left
While snuggled in your cozy bed
Then tell me where the lies reside
Funny how your own words tell a story
Even now I struggle
To see you in a darkened light
I so wish you would have listened
If only just for morbid curiosity
To let the pain subside
