The Cold

The cold embraces my soul, again
I feel nothing but loss, again
I live in the desert, but its been so long since i felt the sun
I am not in a cell, but still i long to get out and run
The ice that fills my core
Leaves me needing more
Everyone keeps choosing the door
I'm still sobbing on the floor.
I'm so tired of being here
So tired of all these tears, all these years
Embrace my exquisite crushing pain,
Death cant be found where Ive lain
cant see through my veil of tears and disdain
Why cant I get out of my own prison?
screams stretch from the bowels of my soul,
falls to the deaf, no longer listen.
where my heart lies is an abyss, black hole
no rain to ease this pain anymore.
Death evades, still I seek, and am denied
Each time caught, position belied
no one left to save me.
not even me.
Author's Notes: The silver wash of death looks to me as the cornucopia of life, why stay here when I may find comfort there? All you optimists out there that would disagree, imagine your whole family. Take it now away. Life totally without knowing really anyone. Everyone who knows me is dead. Now I am too tore up to try to repair. I wish no one the experience of my despair.
