Something's Not Right

Something Not Right
At my side he stands
Watching over me
In solitude
His gaze endless
Enough to tear the soul
And somewhere in my mind
I hear, death is calling
Something's not right
Not the usual jester
With his silly smile
And puppy dog eyes
No this is someone much different
One who adheres to every rule
Offering no emotion
Since I was young I can remember
He is one
Who guides with lessons learned
But yet, I feel him
And I know
Something's not right
He is sad for me this day
So much so it chills me
He looks at me as if
If only he could hold me
Much stronger this day than the others
Others who daily guide my path
A rare occurrence
Something's not right
I cannot make out what's wrong
I only know that I fear to be home
Not to worry, so I am told
I will be protected
I look to my right
For reassurance
From that one soul
The one who knows me best
But there is no reassurance
He only hangs his head low
"I'm sorry"
And tears begin to well
Something's definitely not right
So I wait
Unknowing of the time or place
I only know what may be
And what must be
I fear
But know I will overcome
Til things are right once more

Author's Notes: I wrote this because I am seeing today a very strong spirit guide I have had since my pre-teen years. Typically he is very methodical, authoritarian like, as unemotional as they are stereotyped. Generally, he will not step out in front of my other guides as he is meant to lead, teach from afar. Today however is different, he is at the forefront letting me know something bad will come to pass, but I cannot make out what is. I fear the emotion I am feeling from him but I know things will get better with time.
