Biting My Tongue
Biting my tongue
The best I can
As I had promised
Just this morning
Her eyes blue and pure
She speaks to me
For nothing good shall come
From a forked tongue
So I shall bow my head graciously
I will not speak of evil sorcerers
Who in towering skyscrapers reside
Or of wicked step monsters
Who would enjoy nothing more
Than to lock little princesses away
No, as promised
My tongue I will bite
Instead I will think dreamily
Of.....Horses!
Yes! Horses!
Why not horses?
Running wildly in the wind
Manes flowing freely
Guiding a fantastical journey
That leads to a golden temple
And lands long lost
With streams that glisten in the sunlight
Carved within the green of the earth
A fairy tale come true
Where knights in battle
Raise their mighty swords
And Damsels from trellised balconies call
Oh and Bar Wenches
Oops....
No, no, there are no Bar Wenches
Sorry, wrong story
She's not here right now
Biting my tongue
Oooh but there is a King
Yes, a King
Beautiful and strong
With a heart that shines like no other
And fire in his eyes
He is not a lazy oaf, this King
Oh no, he is of the people
His calloused hand proof
Of the hard work he endures
And he is a fighter
A silver witch at his side
Ridding his land of thieves
Who in the shadows lay hidden
Til there is peace upon his Kingdom
It is a land not easily forgotten
Reveling in life and dreams
From the wake of morning
In the early sunrise
Through to the hours of twilight
Still, the time approaches
The horses now drawn
It's time to go
Again returning home
