Why?

by SilverAngelFire
 Age Group: Adult

Why?
Why so often do we find The darkness consuming us Why do we believe death cures all When in reality, Death is just another step There are no answers so I am told When life is taken by one's own hand Only fear and pain Loneliness Sometimes years to crawl from the blackness Only to relive it again
It tears me apart to see those choose that path Blind to the strength they hold inside Yet, I know those feelings all too well Everyday I fight it Anxiety, depression But it will not overtake me Every time I pick myself up off my knees Is one more battle won
I know I cannot save the world Hell, I have a hard enough time saving myself But just for a moment for them to see That within them shines a light so brilliant They can make it, I know they can
And what of those who have lost the fight What do you think they would say Go back to the top and begin again Even if you find yourself reaching out From planes of the unknown To whom would you turn Family, friends, but you're already gone There is no return from the abyss No open arms waiting Not because they don't care Maybe it is that they care too much Or just cannot bring themselves to believe
I tried once, twice more to be frank Branded a freak or a liar If they only knew the truth I tried to bring him home for a moment All I found was that no one was willing to listen Instead there were amateur investigations Stalking from the trees, binoculars gleaming in the sun Asking riddiculus questions About the movie Clockwork Orange My favorite scenes, classical pieces played I couldn't tell if he was a rapist or just that stupid Who talks about that movie to strangers Very few indeed
So again I tried, different time different place Knowing better, I put it out there And again I found a dead end He didn't listen as I was so sure he would But she did A wannabe witch, falsely preaching Shamanic ways Vowing her revenge For every one person she proclaims to help She takes two in return You just gotta laugh Preaching her truths, psssht She knows no truth No respect for anyone but herself NEVER should I have gone there For a dead addict why should she care
Once more I am left to clean up the mess I am tired
So remember, those of you who choose it Death by your hand It is final but at the same time continual A never ending spiral With no one to look back to If you're truly lucky and realize your mistakes You'll find an angel to help and heal you But the past won't matter It has moved on And its too f***ing late
