Heavens Gift

Blessed day
On high
The angels sing
As love and hope
Again were born
The day you graced the earth
A precious gift to behold
The moment of your birth
Celebrated
Replayed each year
For within this heart
You will always hold a place
Growing wiser with time
The light that shines within you
Pure and true
Radiating even more brilliantly
Than the golden fire of the sun
So very proud of all you have become
And will be
You are wild and strong
Passionate
Determined
Unhindered by life's curves
Even in times of pain
When darkness sought to consume you
You fought for all that mattered
Your head held high
And by your own will
Found your way
You are and will always be
A true gift of the Heavens

Author's Notes: For my nephew Richie whose birthday is coming up on Oct. 23rd. Also for my niece Ashley and someone very close to my heart who share a birthday on Nov. 1st. I wanted to get this out there now as I am not sure I will be able to post for a bit. My only other hope is that each one of them will listen just once to a song by Rascall Flatts "My Wish" and know that I am always thinking of them and I am always here if they need me.
