The Angels Sing

The Angels Sing
Songs of hope, prayer and light
Faith does not a difference make
Together they now walk the path
Serenity and peace be found
By ignorance were taken
Pure born evil
The world had yet to know
The one who would choose their end
He sought to quell the fire
Bring tears upon the earth
For a moment won his ugly fight
Until the angels found their light
From darkness they soared
On eagles wings so free
Halo bound
And standing proud
Of all their lives had meant
Now evil becomes the slave
Every second feel the pull
He hides in fear to ease the mind
But the shadows lurks behind
It is now
His judgement will commence
The heart weighed heavy
While the angels sing in tune
They are reborn
For no more harm shall come

Author's Notes: Written for Sonja Larson, Christina Powell, Tracey Paules, Christa Hoyt and Manny Taboada. These were victims of the horrific serial killings that had taken place at the University of Florida. Today their murderer faced his final earthly justice and his judgement begins. May they and their families finally find the peace they so desperately deserve.
