Friends (A Truce)
Fearful even now
I have caused you pain
For is not a path I wish
For you nor others
Yet there are things to say
That must be said
And even still
Vision that must remain hidden
Though eyes may see only surface
It is depth that is brought across
I have seen the meandering of secrets
From bitter discontentment
Jealousy in all its glory
For what, I have nothing
Save for my gifts
Perhaps this is where it spurns
For I have seen the dreams
Dreams of true hearts
Those who recount the mist
Pathways intersecting
Without rhyme or reason
And is most surely why
To you I speak so freely
So I have spoken for myself
And of that which drives this heart
While our beliefs may differ
It is my freedom and choice
Dually it cannot be diminished
Still, I pray no ill thoughts will pass
Granted understanding and forgiveness
Of this life I have been given
Realistically, it is I who is plundered
Pilfered without remorse
The swift tongue
Hidden beneath the horns
Threatening me in silence
Just as she has smaller angels
Of same name
And those in custodial charge
Who for whatever reason
Is shown to me as a sister
One for who I have great respect
So yes, it is the devil I do despise
For that matter, will never forgive
The light of truth cannot be extinguished
Never!
No, I will stand proud
As I like so many, I have been entrusted
Called upon by the ways of Ancients
To heal in times of need
In life and death
I am who I am
Without regret
